Just because she's cute...

Because Sissy has a video, I had to post one of Laila. Mommy has to be fair. Here's our cute girl, just being cute! Enjoy!

Sophia is walking...

My big girl is practicing her walking skills...just wanted to share, because we are SOOOOO proud!

Laila's will be posted when she decides she's ready...she just thinks it's super funny to watch Sissty do it!

Genius

Do all 1 year olds do this stuff...?

I just can't even believe that she thought of this herself...she had to, because lord knows neither her Daddy nor I are crawling under that table!

She will literally get herself under that table and move her little head around until she finds the opening and then crawl through it!!

Gotta love the big smile at the end, and she even says "I DID IT!!"

Super smart little girl!

Craaaaazzzzzzyyyyyy Hair!

Both of my girls have been known a time or two for their crazy hair! Well the other day Bean went down for a nap with piggies in, and woke up with this hairdo...

Enough said...

Good intentions...

So I have been lacking on the whole "read to your children" bit....they just don't seem interested. Maybe it's their age, or that there are two of them and they gang up on me, who knows, but I sat down the other night and tried again....you will see the end result below!

It all started out well and good...

...and this is how it ended up. LOL

Maybe it was my choice of reading material they didn't like (see book title)...who knows. I will just keep trying!

This little piggy...

I have been waiting for the day that I could pull my little girls' hair up into piggy tails, and the day has finally arrived! Their hair is finally long enough, and so I jumped at the chance. Here are a few pics of their piggies...

Miss Laila (aka Bean) rockin' the piggies!

Miss Sophia (aka Soph) showin' some piggy style!
Gosh we made cute babies...guess that means we need to make some more, right? hmmmm....

PEEK-a-BOO

I had to post these because they were just to darn cute...
Laila loves playing peek-a-boo, as you can see...

What did I do to deserve these little treasures? Gahh...I love these girls!

Raiding the fridger...

OK, that's what I call the refrigerator!! Anyway...if my monkeys are out of their cage (if you have been to our house recently, you know what I am referring to) they automatically migrate to my kitchen. Maybe just to be near Mommy, or just to be in Mommy's way...I choose the first! Anyway...they LOVE the refrigerator! I'm not sure what draws their attention...maybe the cold, maybe all the FOOD, or maybe just because I tell them NO each and every time, but if it's open, that's where they end up, so I caught some pics of them getting into some michief...
Here is Sophia standing INSIDE of the refrigerator. I'm not entirely sure what she's looking for in there.

This picture shows what a team these two are ALREADY! Sophia had gotten something out of the refrigerator, and look who ended up with it. I have noticed Laila doing this A LOT lately. She will sit back and watch her sister do something silly, wacky or naughty and somehow work in a benefit for herself. She's no dummy, that's for sure!!

Needless to say I'm on to these two, and their tag team efforts!! But they are so dang cute, they can get away with just about anything....just about!

Poor Elmo

RIP Elmo

So my Mommy instincts have kicked in full force...we've all known this for awhile, but recently I have developed the sense that when the house is quiet, and my girls are awake, there is trouble brewing. This morning that trouble had Elmo's name written all over it. Poor poor little Elmo never stood a chance with two one year olds. It was a super cute book, while it lasted.

Some of the (many) things I love about...

MY GIRLS...
I'm not sure why, but I'm feeling inspired to blog a little more these days. Maybe it's because the girls are doing so many "new" things, or just because I have so much to say. Anyway... The other day I was really wondering if I could love my girls anymore than I already do. I know the answer is that I love them more every day, which is hard to believe is possible, but every morning when I wake up and feel more love, I know it is. But this got me thinking about all the "little" things that I love about them, and I thought I would put them in a blog.... So here are just a few... ...of the things I love about Sophia Adeline:
  • She insists on standing on top of my feet, and this is no accident, it is very deliberate. Not sure why, but it is a must for her, and although it hurts, its just one of her many little quirks.
  • If I am in the room, she wants to be where I am...always. (I hope it's the same when she's 13!!) LOL
  • She always needs a little extra love when she wakes up from a nap or a good night's sleep. And you know, I must oblige!
  • I cannot get enough of her open mouth kisses...they are the best!
  • The way she gurgles her milk from her sippy cup. She does this to be funny...and it is!!
  • Her one dimple...it's perfection!
  • Her red/blonde patch of hair....to me, it's a little piece of Mommy.
  • She hearts FRUIT!! Any and all!! Just like her Momma!
  • She loves the General Hospital theme song...no joke! She gets the biggest smile on her face every single time...
  • The way she dances...and one of her faves is Disco music...super cute!

...of the things I love about Laila Marie:

  • Her petite little frame...she's just the tiniest little thing, and to date she is still not on the growth charts for her weight!
  • Her fiery spirit! She reminds me so much of my Grandma, and mostly for that very reason. She doesn't take any crap from anyone...except maybe Daddy...maybe.
  • The way she will pick up her play phone, or hold her hand up to her ear to call her Daddy. She loves him so much...
  • The way she plays with her hair, usually when she's eating, but not always. She LOVES her hair...already!
  • She knows she is a BIG GIRL, and she will show you by throwing up those little arms when you say "BIG GIRL", she's so proud!
  • She hearts veggies...just like her Daddy!
  • No matter how long she has been asleep, she always, always wakes up wih a smile on her face.
  • This little tiny girl cannot hold still for a diaper change to save her soul....she is the hardest butt to diaper, ever!
  • She also loves the General Hospital theme song...it makes her dance, just a little.
  • She also loves to dance....and her fave is also Disco music. So funny!
  • She will lay in her bed for a long time, and just jabber away to herself...totally content to just chill out by herself. We all need some alone time I guess...

One special little tidbit I had down for both girls is the love they have for each other!! They really do share a very special bond, that will never be broken. It's so precious to see them together, and I can't wait to see their bond grow as they grow!!

I was born to be their Mommy, and I cannot imagine not having them in my life!! They fill my heart and soul, and I am the happiest Mommy in the world!!

Dream big little girls!

Cruisin'

For the girls 1st birthday we got them a fancy dancy two seater wagon! Daddy and I searched High and Low for this fancy little wagon, to make sure we picked just the right chariot for our little princesses.
Well, Daddy finally got the thing together night before last, so we took the girls for their first ride last night, and let me tell you those two little faces with their big CHEESY smiles said it all. THEY LOVED IT!!
I snapped a few shots of their excitement....ENJOY!!

The BIG "ONE" times TWO!!

"While we try to teach our children all about life,
Our children teach us what life is all about."~Angela Schwindt
Our two little princesses are officially 1. No longer infants, now toddlers! I look back on their birth, and how teeny tiny they were, and am amazed and so proud of how far they have come in such a short amount of time. They arrived 7 weeks too early, but now it feels like they didn't get here soon enough! Time flies so fast in the fast paced life of having kids, but we have often stopped to just enjoy our two little blessings...we have gotten to laugh with them, cry with them (colic...horrible), play with them, eat with them, dance with them, bond with them, and (probably my favorite) sleep with them, and we have enjoyed each and every moment, and we don't take any of them for granted.
It has been a fabulous year, and I look back on it with an overflowing heart, and a little tear in my eye that it went so fast...but I look forward to all that is to come for "Heather and Q plus TWO"!
Here is a little video I put together from some pics of the party...Enjoy!

**I have to give credit, where credit is most certainly due. Cristin took the pictures shown in the video above, and she did an awesome job. She is a very talented photographer, but you can also tell when she adores her subjects...its comes through in her pictures! Great job (again) Cristin!**

Teething, crawling, ear infections, pneumonia...OH MY!!

This has been quite an exciting, yet exhausting week in the Baseer household.
  • Both girls cut their first tooth (finally)!!
  • Miss Laila started crawling, and now she won't sit still!! Sophia started crawling around the first of the month, but Laila being a bit smaller, needed to build up quite a bit more strength. But she did it...and there's no stopping her now!!

So that was all of the exciting news of the week...but with the good, comes the bad.

  • Sophia came down with a double ear infection, shortly after that first tooth was cut. But she's on antibiotics, and on the mend. WHEW!!

As if that wasn't enough...

  • Laila gets sick, we take her into the Dr. on Friday night, and they brush it off as just a virus, no medicines, just use the humidifier, Tylenol, Motrin, etc. We go through another night of sleeplessness, and by Saturday she just wasn't looking any better. We finally got her down, and sleeping soundly, and get her sister off to sleep as well, and you would have thought Q and I had hit the jackpot...we were so ready for some good sound sleep. But, being the overprotective Mommy that I am, I had to check on Laila one last time before I could sleep...and THANK GOD I DID, she was BURNING UP!! Take her temp, and it was at 104.8, so no rest for the weary...Make a call to Auntie Cristin and Uncle Charlie to see if she can sit with Sophia while we take Laila into the ER. (I knew my gut was telling me this was more than just a virus). So Auntie and Uncle arrive, and off we go. We got right in, which was fabulous!! After about an hour or so, and one chest X-Ray later, Laila has PNEUMONIA!! But, luckily we caught it just in time, and it isn't TOO bad!! So they give her Amoxicillin and send us home. It was another somewhat sleepless night here, but her fever broke (again), so hopefully she's on the upward swing.

Who knew Motherhood could be so rewarding, and exciting one day, and the very next day, full of worry, and fear?!? I now know, never to doubt my Motherly instincts because they will not lead me or my babies astray!! There is nothing like a Mother's connection to her children.

Girls LOVE Bubble Baths!!

We all know that big girls, love their bubble baths....but as you can see from below, this love starts from a very early age!! Bath time is a super fun time for the girls, they would literally lay in the bath tub forever if we let them, buy we try not to let them get prune-y on us...mean Mommy and Daddy!!
It sure is hard to tell which one is which huh...
This is Little Laila...or Bean as we like to call her.

And this is Miss Sophia, or my Punky.

Swinging is so fun!!

Laila and Sophia recently had their first ride on the swings at the park by our house, and they LOVED every minute of it as you can see by their BIG smiles!!
Sophia wanting more pushes!!
I loved the way I caught the sun in this picture...so cool!! And the big open mouth smile says it all, huh? Sooooo fun Mommy!!
Do you think she liked it?

Our first visit from the Easter Bunny!!

Sophia and Laila just had their very first visit from the Easter Bunny!! They got all dressed up in their fancy dancy Easter dresses, and we were off to Auntie Cristins to see what the Easter Bunny hid in those super fun little eggs.
They got to hunt for Easter Eggs with their cousins, and they received lots of goodies in their Easter baskets!! It was a fun-filled day with the family, and a great first Easter, although we did miss our Daddy because he was away in Pakistan. But he will be here for the next Easter, and all the one's after that.
Here are some pictures of the girls enjoying the day...

Sophia all dressed up in her Easter dress, ready to go to Auntie's house

Sophia and Laila enjoying their Easter basket goodies!! You can tell by those big smiles, they loved everything!!

Laila has one of the THE cutest smiles!! She smiles with her whole face! You KNOW when this baby is happy!!

You KNOW when Sophia is happy too...she crinkles up that little nose, and just snorts away!! So funny!!
