- Both girls cut their first tooth (finally)!!
- Miss Laila started crawling, and now she won't sit still!! Sophia started crawling around the first of the month, but Laila being a bit smaller, needed to build up quite a bit more strength. But she did it...and there's no stopping her now!!
So that was all of the exciting news of the week...but with the good, comes the bad.
- Sophia came down with a double ear infection, shortly after that first tooth was cut. But she's on antibiotics, and on the mend. WHEW!!
As if that wasn't enough...
- Laila gets sick, we take her into the Dr. on Friday night, and they brush it off as just a virus, no medicines, just use the humidifier, Tylenol, Motrin, etc. We go through another night of sleeplessness, and by Saturday she just wasn't looking any better. We finally got her down, and sleeping soundly, and get her sister off to sleep as well, and you would have thought Q and I had hit the jackpot...we were so ready for some good sound sleep. But, being the overprotective Mommy that I am, I had to check on Laila one last time before I could sleep...and THANK GOD I DID, she was BURNING UP!! Take her temp, and it was at 104.8, so no rest for the weary...Make a call to Auntie Cristin and Uncle Charlie to see if she can sit with Sophia while we take Laila into the ER. (I knew my gut was telling me this was more than just a virus). So Auntie and Uncle arrive, and off we go. We got right in, which was fabulous!! After about an hour or so, and one chest X-Ray later, Laila has PNEUMONIA!! But, luckily we caught it just in time, and it isn't TOO bad!! So they give her Amoxicillin and send us home. It was another somewhat sleepless night here, but her fever broke (again), so hopefully she's on the upward swing.
Who knew Motherhood could be so rewarding, and exciting one day, and the very next day, full of worry, and fear?!? I now know, never to doubt my Motherly instincts because they will not lead me or my babies astray!! There is nothing like a Mother's connection to her children.
